Rooster Women’s Pro Aquafleece top 2.0

Rooster Women’s Pro Aquafleece top 2.0

By Sarah Thornely (supjunkie.co.uk)

I have been hearing about the Rooster Aquafleece tops for many years from paddlers expressing how incredible they are and perfect for their chosen sport, so I was delighted to get my hands on one, fresh off the production line and in a women-specific fit. Happy days!

Rooster has been making high-quality sailing gear since 1999 and has easily transferred that expertise to SUP with their clothing brand. It’s well-made, eye-catching, and really does the job it’s designed for.

This new Aquafleece 2.0 still delivers the same flexibility, warmth and protection from the elements, but has been designed to fit women with shape, comfort and mobility in mind. Any water sport demands dynamic movement, and you do not want to be restricted by what you wear.

I have been wearing it for a few months now, with or without a base layer, depending on the temperature. It is lined with a heavy fleece and is remarkably comfortable. The stretchy fabric allows for good movement, with adjustable areas on the waist, cuffs, and neck. The neck lining is incredibly soft and can be adjusted with a reflective cord for visibility in low-light conditions.

The waist also features a very grippy, rubberised, contoured panel with newly upgraded hook-and-loop tightening, ensuring the garment stays put. The cuff loops have also been upgraded.

The seams are fully taped, which adds to a more streamlined, comfortable top whilst remaining very durable. This is time-consuming but makes all the difference. The Midnight Teal colourway for women is designed to match their existing neoprene collection, so whether you are training or racing, you certainly look smart.

The Aquafleece 2.0 is designed as a semi-dry top layer and provides great waterproofing, wind resistance, and excellent insulation, helping keep the elements out. Also great to keep in the van and sling on once off the water, especially if it is a blustery day – it’s such a snug top!

Can you believe the Aquafleece top was designed and launched in 2002? All the team at Rooster wanted was for people to ‘try it on’ because once they did, they realised how incredibly comfortable this garment was. Not only comfortable, but it really delivers on the claimed tech spec! It is available not only for women but also for men and juniors.
