Spending long days on the water often means carrying enough clean water can be as much of a challenge as carrying the rest of your kit. That’s where the Tappwater BottlePro Adventure caught our attention.

There are a couple of considerations. Like any filtration system, the cartridges require periodic replacement approximately every two months to maintain consistent filtering quality. The filter also requires a little more suction than a conventional drinking bottle because the water passes through a finer filtration medium. It’s by no means difficult to use, but it’s something you’ll notice during the first few sips. To absorb the maximum amount of water, place the bottle vertically or up to 45º.

Overall, I found the Tappwater BottlePro Adventure to be a genuinely useful piece of expedition kit rather than simply another insulated water bottle. It combines robust construction, effective insulation and advanced filtration in a package that’s easy to live with and reassuring to carry.
