Peak PS Wrapid Fit PFD

Peak PS Wrapid Fit PFDs

Peak PS has carried out a complete design overhaul of its top-end PFD collection, introducing the next generation of its patented Wrapid Fit concept. Four new models have been added to the range. For sea and touring paddling, the collection includes two front-zip designs: the Wraptor Zip and Wraptor H2O. For recreational and white water paddling, two side-entry vest-style models are offered: the Wrapid Vest and the Wrapid Guide.

All models feature the Wrapid Fit entry and adjustment system, combined with updated 3D pattern designs that sculpt and mould the flotation foam around the paddler’s body. Interlocking, overlapping, and highly chamfered foam panels enhance comfort and freedom of movement.

The rear panel incorporates Peak PS’s Internal Secure Wrap System. Extended wing panels wrap around the lower torso and sit securely and comfortably between the waist and rib cage. Webbing adjusters, side-release buckles, and, where appropriate, a chest harness connect the front and back panels, depending on the model and its intended use.

A key benefit of the Internal Secure Wrap System is the elimination of the traditional lower-waist adjustment strap.

This allows the overall height of the PFD to be reduced, helping prevent the front panel from riding up, particularly when paddling in a seated position. In women’s sizes, the front foam panels and overall shape have been shortened and widened in line with insights gathered through the #shepaddlespeak data set. An internal stepped foam structure has also been developed to comfortably accommodate a wide range of chest shapes. The Wrapid Fit styling and adjustment system provides a significantly broader fit range within each size than previous Peak PS PFD models, a feature that was well received by women participating in early product trials.

The development of the Wrapid Fit PFDs is central to #shepaddlespeak. Research and consultation with women across the paddlesports market led to new designs, fitting solutions, and the introduction of a new size. Wrapid Fit PFDs now come in women’s sizes 10/12, 14/16, and the new 18/20, increasing inclusivity and allowing more paddlers of various shapes and sizes to use Peak PS equipment.

The Wrapid Fit range is designed to cover a wide spectrum of paddling disciplines. For those starting out in white water kayaking, the Wrapid Vest offers a safe, comfortable and secure PFD with sufficient storage for a full day on the water. The Wrapid Guide builds on this platform as a more advanced option, suited to demanding white water environments and ideal for guides, professionals, and committed white water paddlers. It features a clean-lined, fully adjustable chest harness, integrated shoulder straps and ample storage for essential safety equipment. Both models are side-entry designs that are easy to fit and adjust, while remaining highly secure and comfortable. They are available in men’s and women’s sizes, finished in high-visibility colourways with reflective, water-based logos throughout.

For sea and touring paddlers, the Wraptor Zip and Wraptor H2O share a common front-facing design, offering generous storage and multiple attachment points. These include front pockets, upper chest areas and reflective shoulder strap webbing, which provides an ideal location for clip-on safety equipment such as light beacons or EPIRBs. In response to team paddlers’ feedback, the Wraptor Zip includes a cutaway section at the base of the rear panel to ensure compatibility with waist-mounted towline systems. The Wraptor H2O features a large rear pocket capable of holding a 1.5-litre hydration bladder, supporting on-the-water hydration. Both models are available in men’s and women’s sizes, with bright colourways and reflective, water-based logos.
