KayakPro Xeon Kayak Ergo
KayakPro, who lead the way in ergo design and innovation and are trusted by over 150 World, European and Olympic Champions, have produced a gamechanger with their latest kayak ergo, the Xeon. The man behind this excellence is Grayson Bourne, five-time Olympian, 67-time British National Champion, and World Champion canoe sprinter. Therefore, someone who knows more than most what it takes to win and what it takes to deliver excellence.
The Xeon is a very clever ergo, it’s been designed for everyday high input heavy use, so it won’t let you down when the going gets tough because It’s constructed from robust steel and aluminium. The rigid chassis gives rise to a super torsionally strong, durable structure. The adjustable resistance of the fan allows you to tailor the Xeon to your needs. You can even calibrate the Xeon to provide bespoke personalised data sets from the onboard console.
When you’re in action, a digital display gives you speed, distance, intervals, length of session, calories burned, power generated, splits, and heart rate through the onboard console. The more you use the Xeon, the more your relationship with the Xeon grows as you discover more and more about your fitness level and paddling technique.
However, there is so much more to the Xeon, with its super comfy features, such as the Nelo-designed seat, which can be easily adjusted in height and angle. There is even an EZ slide and glide easy to adjust footrest complete with a Nelo-designed adjustable pull bar. The paddle shaft is aluminium as standard, or you can upgrade to a fancy carbon shaft; both are super easy to adjust and set the paddle shaft length to suit.
All of this, together with the scientifically designed flywheel, which now sits underneath the Xeon, which means the Xeon is only just over two metres long and can be stored vertically when not in use
Beneath the stunning designs on the chassis side panels is where the mechanical magic takes place through the clever, efficient and effective pullies, which give the most accurate feel of paddling on the water. Just close your eyes and imagine you are on your favourite waterway, but no need to, as the Xeon embraces smart technology.
The Genesis port allows Bluetooth connectivity to your phone, tablet or laptop, connecting to internet virtual racing, training, platforms, programmable training and real-time connectivity to any other paddler at the end of their KayakPro ergo. This is all made possible via the Kinomap app, which KayakPro produced with over 100 x HD geo-located videos from across the globe that you can paddle, race and train on. This is the real game changer in terms of motivational simulation.
This use of smart tech has caught the attention of none other than the International Canoe Federation, who have exclusively endorsed and partnered with KayakPro to host the very first virtual competition in December this year.
In my opinion, the KayakPro Xeon is the gold standard of design and functionality that connects you to an accessible world of paddling opportunities. Yet when the price of everything seems to be rocketing, the Xeon, through clever design, robust and efficient manufacturing, is priced at a new and lower KayakPro ergo price of £1,795 + shipping.
